Admission Procedures
Students are accepted each semester. The application deadlines for
the graduate program in nursing are as follows:
- Fall semester applications must be postmarked by August 1.
- Winter semester applications must be postmarked by December 15.
- Summer semester applications must be postmarked by April 15.
All applicants
meeting the deadline will be notified by mail of application status.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an NLN- or CCNE-accredited
program with a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- A minimum of one year of professional practice preferred prior to entering into clinical courses
- License to practice professional nursing in Indiana
- An interview with the Coordinator of specialty area. MSN/MBA applicants must also interview with the School of Business, (317) 788-3340.
- MSN/MBA applicants must take the GMAT.
- For applicants whose native language is not English, a minimum
score of 213 on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Students must also have baccalaureate-level competency in statistics,
research, life-span development, computer usage, and health assessment
skills at the time of admission.
Provisional admission may be considered
on an individual basis for anyone not meeting GPA requirements.
Nine (9) credit hours may be taken on a space-available basis.
During the provisional period, a GPA of 3.00 is required and one year of professional practice
should be successfully completed.
Documents to Submit
- Transcripts of all previous college work
- Three letters of reference addressing academic ability, work
experience, professional nursing contributions, and potential
for success in graduate school (reference names to be listed on the application); four letters are required for the MSN/MBA dual degree
- Resume
- Submission of the application with a nonrefundable application
fee of $50. Applicants may download and print the Graduate Nursing Application and Recommendation Form 2008 or request an application packet by completing the Request for More Information form.
- A statement of professional goals completed on the application
form
- Applicants wishing to enter the MSN/MBA dual track must submit GMAT scores to the School of Business.
- Copy of current Indiana Nursing License
