Welcome from the Graduate Faculty

We welcome you to the Graduate Nursing Program and look forward to working with you to meet your professional goals. This is an exciting time for you to continue your education with an advanced nursing degree. The health care system is challenged to meet the needs of our complex and ever changing society. We know that nurses and especially advanced practice nurses are making a big contribution to meeting the challenges.

The Graduate Nursing Program consists of six tracks that provide a good variety of choices for your professional development as well as preparing you to meet identified needs of the health care community. These tracks include Family Nurse Practitioner, Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Nurse-Midwife, Nurse Educator, Nursing and Health Systems Administration and MSN/MBA Dual Degree.

The Graduate Nursing Program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The last accreditation visit was in 2003 and the next one will be October 2013. The program received accreditation status from the American College of Nurse Midwives in 2006. Also, the program received recognition as one of the top 75 Graduate Nursing Programs from the US News and World Report.

The Graduate Nursing Program is consistent with the University of Indianapolis policy for accepting qualified applicants for admission without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or ethnic or national origin.

We invite you to be a member of the Graduate Nursing Program student body and want you to know that success in meeting your professional goals is very important to us.
