Midwifery Certificate, Post Masters
Educational Objectives

The Nurse-Midwifery Track will prepare the graduates to:

  • Practice independently and collaboratively to improve the health of our mothers, babies, families and communities, especially for undeserved and vulnerable populations in Indiana.
     
  • Provide competent, comprehensive, culturally-appropriate quality nurse-midwifery care to childbearing families and women across the lifespan.
     
  • Participate in clinical research and incorporate evidence-based care into nurse-midwifery practice.
     
  • Provide effective education about nurse-midwifery and health care issues to patients, community groups and other health care providers.
     
  • Incorporate Christian values and ethical decision-making into clinical practice.
     
  • Assume leadership roles in influencing health policies to promote high quality cost effective care for women, babies, families and communities.
